What a fantastic day out and the perfect follow-up to our launch event. The second Tee & Torque meet took us to the Brighton seafront before winding our way to the picturesque Dyke Golf Club. A huge thank you to everyone who made the journey and braved the British summer weather to make the day such a memorable one.
The Car Meet
Our morning kicked off at The Reading Room, the brand new spot right on Brighton’s seafront. It couldn’t have been a better setting, with crisp sea air, colourful flower beds in full bloom, and that unmistakable Brighton white architecture forming the perfect backdrop for photography. The team even opened 15 minutes early for us, which was a nice touch and gave us extra time to admire the lineup.

Returning favourites included the Porsche 996 and 997 Carrera 4Ss, the new generation BMW M2 and the track prepared BMW 440i, but this meet also brought plenty of exciting newcomers. We had a striking Porsche 718 Boxster S, a Mercedes A35 AMG, and a Jaguar F-Type V6 S adding some noise and flair to the mix. The standout sound of the day easily went to the Audi RS4 Avant B8 with its outrageous Capristo exhaust, which was pure theatre from start to finish. We almost had an E-Type join too, but after a minor mechanical mishap the weekend before, its owner turned up in his Mercedes E-Class wafter, not quite the same tone but certainly the same spirit.

The Convoy Drive
Once everyone had fuelled up and exchanged introductions, the convoy set off for a spirited drive through the countryside east of Brighton. The new walkie talkies were a game changer, helping us keep in touch, coordinate the route smoothly and, of course, provide plenty of mid-drive banter. With some brilliant roads and equally brilliant company, it was another memorable drive that perfectly captured what Tee & Torque is all about.
Arrival at Dyke Golf Club
Arriving at the Dyke, we were greeted by sweeping views stretching out over the Downs and further to the coast. It is one of the most scenic courses in the South, and despite clouds threatening overhead, spirits were high. True to form for a British summer’s day, the weather couldn’t resist throwing us a curveball, and the first light shower rolled through during the opening holes. We managed to dodge the worst of it for most of the round until the final two groups were met with an absolute deluge, lightning and all. The sight of flooded greens within minutes summed up classic English summer golf perfectly.

The Competition
Despite the conditions, the golf was superb, with some seriously impressive performances across the board. Once all 20 players finished, everyone gathered back in the clubhouse for well earned drinks and a meal, reliving some of the day’s highs and near misses.

Wrapping Up
The rain may have tried its best, but it couldn’t dampen the atmosphere. The camaraderie at the end of the day summed up everything Tee & Torque is about – great cars, great golf, and great company. It’s brilliant to see the community continuing to grow with both familiar faces and new ones joining since our inaugural event at Mannings Heath.
Next stop: Cowdray Park for our summer special, and if this event was anything to go by, it is going to be one to remember.
